Slave Narrative

Age:79
location: Arkansas

I know you might be really curios to know when I was a slave. To begin,
my name is Melissa and I'm 79 years old. I worked with my mom at my master's house. I can't remember a lot of thing because I tried to run away and I got hit by my master. When I fell my head hit a tube of metal. The most thing I remember was when my master treated my mom really bad.
I was standing watching what my mom was doing. Our master just came in really mad. I was really scared that I ran and hide. That was the
most horrible thing I saw. He grave some boiled water and throw it to my mom's leg. The only thing he did was he grave her and took her to a room.
I was not able to see my mom my master didn't let me. I would had to pick threw a hole to be able to see my mom. Everyday her injury was nastier red and big bumps on her skin. She couldn't even move because it hurt her. My master didn't feed her or anything he didn't care until she couldn't resist and died. Seen that time I had to do all the work that my mom did.
I was so skinny because i was not feed well. I had to work on the inside of the house. Everything had to be clean and the way the master told me if it wasn't I would get whipped. Being a slave left that it was never going to be an end. I felt like I was been born again when they told me I was free. I really though that freedom was never going to exist. But now I see that it does and I am really glad.

My values

Value

What I value the most is education and family. I think America value the most is business. Another thing I want to comment is that my classmates have different values. Which that is because we all have a different way of thinking.

I value the most is my family. That is because family is the one that support me. When ever I need help they are always there for me. They give me advises all the time. Education is also value to me because with out it you do not know nothing. Education is going to help me in the future to find a good job.

Most all of my classmates have different values. Some of the least values were nature, power and religion. For example power wasn't important to a classmate because you do not need power to succeed. Which I agree with that.
